Available Times: 8am – 11pm 7 Days a week
Includes: Kitchen time, designated kitchen equipment; wooden tables and chairs for seating 30 in front of the Community Kitchen; use of dishwashing area and detergent for dishes accumulated on-site only; use of cleaning supplies; and use of WIFI within the Kitchen.
To confirm your booking in the Community Kitchen we require payment in full.
Clients must agree to follow strict policies and procedures regarding arrival and departure from the building after hours.
The Community Kitchen can be booked for events up to 30 people. Events over 30 people will subject be to a Market event fee of $500.
Inventory and Cleaning Checklists
An Inventory Checklist, and a Closing Checklist will be provided to the client. We recommend allowing a minimum of 30 minutes to complete both the Inventory Checklist, and the Closing Checklist prior to departure. Each Client that uses the community kitchen must initial and sign the provided checklists to ensure tasks are completed and items in the kitchen do not go missing.
Renters are responsible for their own liability insurance for every event held in the Community Kitchen.
A completed Credit Card Authorization Form is required upon booking. This card number will be held and only used if the kitchen is left in unacceptable condition or damage to the kitchen equipment occurs. The kitchen will be inspected by an authorized Market representative after the client’s departure, to determine if the kitchen has been left in good order. Once inspected, any applicable additional charges will be applied to the credit card.
Overtime is considered any time past 11pm, regardless of use. A fixed Overtime Fee of $50 will be charged automatically for each overtime occurrence.
Cancellations must be sent via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the Market at 778-433-2787. Cancellations made two weeks prior to the booking, or earlier, will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within two weeks prior to the booking will not receive a refund.
VIHA Licensing & FoodSafe Certificates
Our kitchen is a VIHA(Vancouver Island Health Authority)-approved, FoodSafe industrial kitchen. Renters will need to obtain a FoodSafe certificate, as well as a license from VIHA.

Special Events Permit for Liquor Service
If you are serving any alcohol during your event you must obtain a Special Events Permit for your event and have it posted in the Community Kitchen area. There will be a $500.00 fee applied to the final bill for anyone caught serving alcohol without the proper documentation.
