We had a chat with Marion Osberg, Owner and Operator of Whisk, and asked her to tell us a bit more about her business and products!

Can you give us a description of your business?

Whisk is a fully stocked kitchen shop with a diverse collection of kitchen accessories that reflect any style of kitchen. We are your friendly neighbourhood kitchen and bakeware source, and sell all of the products you’ll need to prepare your next feast! We also have a fun selection of gifts and knick-knacks…everything from greeting cards and shopping bags, to paper napkins and aprons! Our collection will help add a little spice to your kitchen!

What made you decide to open your business?

I decided to open the business because my kids were all grown up, and we had recently moved downtown after years of living in the suburbs. I wanted to be part of the Victoria Public Market!

What is your favorite product?

My favourite product that I sell is Fiestaware, the beautiful, distinctive and highly collectible coloured dishware.

What products do people buy the most?

Our bestselling items are dish towels and tablecloths. I try to seek out distinctive and fun designs, that help to provide a unique kitchen space with a personal touch.

Tell us something most people don’t know about the business…

We aim to preserve small business values by providing our customers with high-quality and locally sourced products from family owned shops. We carry brands like Vancouver Island Salt, Jody’s Naturals and Smilo Design. I also try to stock a full range of interesting and useful gadgets and bar supplies, and give a 10 percent industry discount!

What’s a typical day look like for you?

A typical day for me is my morning walk through downtown Victoria.  I never get tired of walking through Fan Tan Alley and up Fisgard Street to this lovely old Hudson building. I typically stop for coffee at one of the many great coffee shops along the way.
