Celebrated Indian chef Vikram Vij ofVij’s will be making a special guest appearance and putting on a live cooking demo from 12pm-1pm in the Community Kitchen followed by a book signing at Vij’s Sutra from 1pm-2pm. “I’ll be cooking a recipe that’s very close to my heart’ my Vij’s Family Chicken Curry,” says Vij. “It’s a recipe we’ve used for generations and my wish is to share it with families in Canada so they can enjoy it together as well”.

Little Sprouts is a weekly kids program offering free arts and educational every Saturday in the Community Kitchen, the heart of the market from 12-3. This program is designed to encourage children and their parents to use their creativity while learning about nature, food, farming and healthy eating. Children are a very important part of our sustainable future. Little Sprouts provides an opportunity for children to discover new foods and learn where they come from. In addition to arts and crafts, Little Sprouts will offer scavenger hunts, market bingo, food science and more.
