11am-Noon :: SILVA SOUND ::.
4 piece dub rock | Saltspring Islandwww.reverbnation.com/silvasound | www.myspace.com/silvavotum
Deep in the desert a sound was forged, rhythms emerged and chants were heard. Musical brothers, Chris Holmes and Jesse Cullen were at the beginning of a 10 year journey which led them to the coast of B.C. where they formed Silva. They merged the fire of the interior with the water of the coast creating a unique sound inspired by Gaia in all her forms. Deep, sometimes dark, dub style songs are enriched with pagan folklore, elven rock, rightous reggae and even a country twang. Electronic beats combined with powerful vocals, bluesy guitar and big bass carry the message of honoring the Earth and living together as a people. Their stage presence has been described as mystical and enchanting. The audience is often carried away, entranced and always dancing. Let yourself be immersed in Silva Sound! A truly sublime experience.

With his pure, finely tuned vocals that have an astonishing range, and his undeniable skill behind a banjo or upright bass, Oliver grabs the attention of all who hear him, and holds it with his enormous sound and stature. From the most vulnerable and innocent sounding banjo ditties to the brave and imposing bowed bass, Oliver delivers his own brand of alternative folk and traditional music to the masses with a smile and a twinkle in his eye.
